Abstract
This study identifies twelve critical factors influencing the successful implementation of Blockchain Technology (BCT) in supply chain processes, addressing the significant gap in understanding the practical and theoretical complexities of blockchain implementation. Through semi-structured interviews and grounded theory analysis, the concept of Decentralized Coordination and Sustainability was derived in addition to themes such as Strategic Alignment and Leadership Commitment, Organizational Adaptability and Resilience, Data Security and Integrity, User Preparedness and Engagement. These themes provide a novel theoretical lens to explore blockchain’s role in enhancing supply chain transparency, traceability, and collaboration. The study bridges strategic frameworks with decentralized technologies, providing actionable insights for successful implementation in the supply chain discipline. This research advances the application of grounded theory in blockchain research, encouraging qualitative methods to explore emerging technologies within complex organizational systems. This study establishes a foundation for future research to enhance our understanding of blockchain’s transformative impact in supply chain contexts.
