Abstract
The redesign of LostCrafts.com was undertaken to address some major design problems with the website. This included a complete lack of social interface for the users, confusing navigation, inconsistent design, and nonconformity to any web designing standards. Research and a literature review was conducted for best practices and it was determined that a minimalist or Zen web design strategy would be used. A comment script was added to the websites internal pages for users to interact and a contact form was added to allow users to make suggestions. The script was coded using a combination of Perl, JavaScript, and MySQL. The users were then encouraged to submit suggestions and comments. All web pages were converted to the new design template to provide consistent navigation and consistent experience throughout the website. Incomplete content and unused code was discarded to clean up the website and all HTML/CSS code was validated using W3C standards. The project was successful on all objectives and meets the requirements for the project.
