Abstract
The Active Directory and Ult Plus Resource Database project was undertaken to create a means for synchronous communication between a multi-value Ult Plus database and a Microsoft Windows network environment. With the use of third party software called mv.net from BlueFinity, the application that was developed provides a single point of contact with both Ult Plus and Active Directory. Development of this application required gaining broad understanding of the data structure of Ult Plus and multi-value databases in general. This application also serves as a proof of concept for future development in this environment. The application successfully met the initial requirements and has already served as a starting point for a second application. This paper lays out the reasons for development, the design of the system, and the capabilities of the finished application as well as lessons learned during the process of development.
