Abstract
The Event Coordination and Planning System (ECPS) is a system designed to facilitate the planning of available floor space for any given event, whether that would entail selling seats at a theater performance or booth space at a conference in a convention center. Utilizing an iterative style development process, the system's functional requirements were first determined and refined until an acceptable set of use cases have been created, and from the use cases, the relational data model and code layout were developed, and from there, the project's prototypes were created. Through the use of available technologies, such as Java, MySQL and PHP, the system's components (the Java desktop client application, the database, and the web component) were written with consistency and usability in mind.
