Abstract
This paper presents in detail the process taken to implement a browser-based application for teachers, students, and parents of the Sioux City Community School District. The Sioux City Community School District values technology as a force in educating its students. This project encompasses the ability for the entire district, as well as students and parents, to utilize a webbased application to view and manage student data. Before this project teachers had to record attendance and grades on paper forms and submit the forms to the office to be inputted into the DBMS. Students and parents had no online access for viewing student information. Parents had to contact the school or wait for their student to bring home report cards. This initiative allows parents and students to view student data online at their convenience.
