Abstract

This project illustrates the creation of XML Web Services using the ASP.NET framework. These web services are used to convert Structured Modeling Markup Language (SMML) models developed by El-Gayar and Tandekar (2007) to and from various modeling formats. SMML is an eXtendable Markup Language (XML) which is used for representing mathematical models comprised of various levels of complexity. The web services developed in this project illustrates the viability of developing model convertors as services. Such services play an integral role in distributed model management architecture in heterogeneous environments as that proposed by El-Gayar (2006)
