Abstract

The Human Resources department of the City of Sioux Falls would like an application to facilitate their daily applicant tracking. This project documents the steps that are necessary to create the web-based applicant tracking application. Through this application, the applicants may apply for the City's jobs online; the Human Resources department can post new jobs online, search jobs online, do the applicant tracking, send job interests email notification etc. The Human Resources used to use paper applications only and there were no web-based applications at all. The shortcoming for the paper application is that it's very difficult to do the applicant statistics such as how many applicants there are for each job, how many interests for those un-posted jobs, how many eligible for each current opening etc. So it would be very helpful for Human Resources department to have such an application to simplify their applicant tracking. The technologies involved in this project are JavaScript, ASP, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 etc.
