Abstract
This project will step through the business analysis process involving the application of e-commerce usage in the management of real estate. Each step of the analysis process is examined to understand and prove that web based property management is a viable approach. First the current process of property management is evaluated. This normally involves an intermediary, the real estate agent. They assist the buyer and seller in the buy/sell transaction. This is of course done for a fee. Usually the fee is calculated based on the selling price. Requirements of both the buyer and seller are defined and analyzed as to the feasibility of applying an electronic approach to tasks associated with buying and selling. These tasks can be converted to segmented offering of services and advice selectable by either party. Each step of the process can be completed by the users and steps that exceed their comfort or willingness level can be completed using the legacy method. After completing the analysis process, including risk appraisal and developing a business plan, the results are positive. It is possible to create and present a web site that will aid in the property management system. It is also possible to generate revenue by replacing or supplementing the transaction process. The system will allow users to complete the entire process and eliminate the intermediate generated expenses. The advertising and service fees collected from referral will be the major source of revenue to support the web site.
